A hot weekend producing 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss with a thrilling match at London Road and Uxbridge CC
As Game 12 draws to a close, we put some good wins on the board and some strong drawn results with just the one loss across Saturdays matches.
The 1st XI went close to victory on an incredibly tough pitch to bat on after being asked to bat first by Datchet. Eliot Callis battled hard for his 23 off 73 balls, with runs from Henry Chapman (25) and George Russell (26), but with Wycombe 120-8 a low score was on the cards before a Cameron Parsons 64* and Sam Parry 24 gave Wycombe a score to defend and look to bowl Datchet out. Parsons once again produced with the ball (4-52) along with AJ Woodland (2-42) to give hope of victory, but unfortunately couldn't take the final couple of wickets. Wycombe continue to pick up good points and are sat 5th 20 points behind leaders Wokingham.
Our 2nd XI recorded victory against top of the league Uxbridge in an emphatic win, Wycombe won the toss and batted on a very used track that looked as though it would turn from ball 1. The top 4 set about their work with Archie Dodds (27) and George Lasseter (28) getting things off to a good start before losing Lasseter. Billy Dodds registered his first 2nd XI 50 and made batting look easy, supported by some big shots from Jai Angell, following a collapse we were bowled out for 174, a total on a turning pitch that kept us in the game. A brilliant opening spell of bowling from Brezza delivered 6-50, some brilliant catching and fielding meant Wycombe were always in the game when they had Uxbridge 71-6 before Uxbridge started to rebuild but wickets from Joe Hoggan (2-30) and Harry Lane (2-33) meant victory was snapped up with a leg stump yorker in what was an incredible game of cricket! Following 3 good results, the 2s sit 6th in the table 2 points behind 5th and 40 off top.
The 3rd XI faced Cookham dean in what turned out to be an uninspiring draw after Cookham never seemed to try and chase down Wycombe's total. Wycombe won the Toss and chose to bat, with the innings in the balance at 67-4 Sam Spencer produced a knock of 42 supported by Sulay Warraich before a couple of quick wickets brought Callum Stay and Jay Babu to the crease at 133-6 where a low score could be on the cards. C Stay (80*) and J Babu (41) put on 120 for the 6th wicket and lifted Wycombe to a defendable score of 266. Cookham never really went for the chase and played out for the draw after some tidy bowling from Sathees (3-47), Mo Babu (1-17) and Pranav Mahesh (1-29).
The 4th XI faced Uxbridge 3s and unfortunately came out 2nd best to a strong Uxbridge side. Wycombe won the toss and chose to bat, posting 197-9 with runs from Yusuf Akhtar (64) and Matt Walker (30*). Wycombe struggled to contain Uxbridge's captain and despite bowling efforts we struggled to take enough wickets. Jake Wildman 1-19, Raihan Hussain 1-26 and Alex Harrison 2-15 were the pick of the bowlers as Uxbridge chased down our total 5 wickets down.
The 5th XI recorded another strong win winning by 50 runs. Skipper Shaun Coker lost the toss and Wycombe were asked to have a bat. Tajas Ashar (43) and Tyler Armiger (43) put on the runs for Wycombe with a score of 192-9 in their 40 overs. Ickenham were bowled out for 142 with only Skipper Shaun Coker and Keeper Tim Russell not having a bowl! Wickets for Fabio Saelzler 2-14, Musa Idris 3-28, Tyler Armiger 2-9 were the pick of the bowlers.
