Wycombe 4th XI Narrowly Miss Out

High Wycombe 4th XI found themselves around 30 runs short with the bat after Barnes Wild Geese chased down the runs in the final few overs.

Having batted first, both Archie Dodds (86) and Manav Mahesh (52) took their chances and held together with great individual performances. For those that haven't got Archie in their fantasy teams better make a quick transfer as he's made 50+ in each innings so far this season.

As skipper Matt Dodds remarked, "Archie Dodds narrowly missing out on his third consecutive ton by playing unselfishly for the team."

On the return side, a top spell of swing bowling from Josh Field meant that Wycombe were always in the game. He managed to beat the bat 5 times in one over before finishing off with a nick to second slip.

"A really encouraging performance against a very good Barnes side. Even though we were about 30 runs short we kept motivated and switched on in the field which meant we got much closer to a result than expected. A great team effort with lots to build on." Dodds commented.
