High Wycombe Cricket Club is proud to launch its first Disability Cricket section, marking a significant step forward in the club’s commitment to inclusive participation and community sport. The programme will begin in mid-April 2026, with the ambition of playing the club’s first competitive disability cricket fixtures in Summer 2026.
The new section forms one of the club’s three strategic junior cricket priorities and is designed to create regular, meaningful cricket opportunities for young people and young adults with disabilities across High Wycombe and the surrounding areas.
Club Chairman, Chris Sketchley commented:
“Cricket should be a game for everyone, and launching a disability cricket section is a really important step in making that a reality in High Wycombe. We are proud to be creating opportunities that are inclusive, supportive and genuinely enjoyable, and we are excited about what this can grow into over the coming years”.
Offering this provision in 2026 would not be possible without the support of our headline partner Jam Worldwide. The company's commitment to the club, the community and disability cricket is inspiring - a huge thanks from everyone at High Wycombe Cricket Club.
From mid-April through to the end of August 2026, the club will deliver weekly outdoor disability inclusive cricket sessions. The programme will be open to players aged 12 to 24 and will be entirely free for participants and their families.
The ever-brilliant HWCC coaching team will be supported by additional volunteers to ensure sessions are accessible, inclusive and well managed, with a strong focus on enjoyment, confidence and individual development.
To support recruitment and long term engagement, HWCC will work alongside local disability and inclusion partners including Horizons, Super Ones and other community organisations.
Alongside weekly training, the programme will provide players with the chance to experience competitive cricket in a supportive environment. HWCC plans to take part in a series of disability cricket mini tournament days during the summer, coordinated with Bucks CCC.
The club’s aim is to run four tournament days involving three other clubs, with early discussions including Chesham Cricket Club and Cublington Cricket Club. Players will compete in HWCC kit and the club has also committed to hosting one of the tournament days at its own grounds.
Coaches will ensure players are grouped and supported at the right level for them, creating a positive and enjoyable cricketing experience for all involved.

HWCC’s will offer this provision completely free of charge, funded through grants, donations and sponsorship. The HWCC Disability Pathway has already raised £1,750, with Jam Worldwide as the key contributor and headline partner. The money will cover the cost of player kit, programme set up and any extra coaching support required.
HWCC would also like to thank Bucks CCC who have already supported the initiative’s launch with a grant. Harry Gadsby at Bucks CCC commented:
'High Wycombe Cricket Club's new Disability Cricket section is an amazing initiative which will create sporting opportunities for new audiences in and around High Wycombe. Options for people with disabilities, diagnosed conditions and impairments to play cricket in a club environment are rare, so Bucks Cricket are excited to support the programme and see cricket be used as a platform to drive social inclusion'.
We're open to further sponsorship and donations. If you would like to do something amazing for Wycombe and put your business at the heart of the community, please contact our partnership lead, Ben Triggs at ben@hwcc.co.uk.
