We welcome new player signing Matt Pardoe to London Road, becoming our 2nd signing of the season, a top order left handed batter who also bowls left arm spin.
Matt joins us from Halesowen in the Birmingham Premier league. Having last year joined Royal Grammar School as Head of Cricket has made the move a simple one along with becoming Bucks cricket vice captain alongside newly appointed Bucks Captain Conner Haddow.
Our chairman Chris Sketchley welcomed the new signing to the club "We are delighted to announce the signing of Matt Pardoe. Matt comes with lots of experience both in the Professional game and also club cricket and we feel he will be a massive asset to the club."
Our community connections are very important the club, sketchley added "He will also help us grow our relationship with the Royal Grammar School, where he is head of cricket and will offer coaching experience to the club of a high standard"
In conversation with Matt, we found out more about the move to London Road, "I first played at High Wycombe years ago for Herefordshire so I was aware of the club. Then after starting as a teacher and Head of Cricket at RGS High Wycombe I was in introduced to a few people at the club and was able to train with the squad a few times last winter."
On what he's looking forward to the most about becoming a warrior "It’s always exciting to join an already successful club. However, getting to know people throughout the club is always special as it’s the people that truly make a club."

On his new team mates and who he's looking forward to playing with "I’m aware of a number of players through National Counties cricket so I’m excited to be playing with lots of quality cricketers. However, I’d say I am most excited to play with Connor. He’s a quality bowler and I will be working closely with him for Buckinghamshire too."
Matt joins us having spent the last decade as Herefordshire CCC captain and prior to that on the staff at Worcestershire, bringing a wealth of experience to the club "I have gained a lot of experience over the years which I aim to bring into the both the changing room and the club as a whole, especially to the younger players. As an “experienced” player I think it’s important i pass on my knowledge and experience to help the younger players develop quicker and I look forward to mentoring and coaching the younger players at the club."
Looking ahead to the 2026 "Personally, I would like to stamp my mark with consistent performances on the pitch, especially with the bat. As a squad, the aim will be to win the title again. Back-to-back titles are rare feat."
Welcome to the warriors Matt!
